um. yeah.

oh and harry potter. the whole series. if you haven't read it, i don't know that we can be friends.

i too have all these books, if anyone wishes to borrow one.

as for right now, i am reading the road, by cormac mccarthy. i want to see the movie, but i have to read the book first, of course. i am almost done. has anyone else read it?

and next i am going to read the neverending story. ke put an excerpt up on her blog, and i have always wanted to read it.

what is everyone else reading now?

ask her

if she still keeps all of her kings in the back row. i used to play checkers with her all the time...she wouldn't move any of her kings. what she'd do, when she'd get a king, she wouldn't move it. she'd just leave it in the back row. she'd get them all lined up in the back row. then she'd never use them. she just liked the way they looked when they were all in the back row..ask her if she still keeps all her kings in the back row. -catcher in the rye

the dharma bums by jack kerouac
catcher in the rye by jd salinger
the bell jar by sylvia plath
we the living by ayn rand
east of eden by john steinbeck

"colleges being nothing but grooming schools for the middleclass non-identity which usually finds its perfect expression on the outskirts of the campus in rows of well-to-do houses with lawns and television sets is each living room with everybody looking at the same thing and thinking the same thing at the same time while the Japhies of the world go prowling in the wilderness to hear the voice crying in the wilderness, to find the ecstasy of the stars, to find the dark mysterious secret of the origin of faceless wonderless crapulous civilization." -the dharma bums

i have all of these books if anyone wants to borrow one!

love.

first things first

hiyee.

i think that everyone should start thinking about their favorite books, and making a list to share with us. once everyone has done that, pick a book from any list, and start reading. then if you feel like sharing, post your thoughts on the book here. i think that towards the end of february, we can think of ideas for the next book. maybe some kind of theme, or someone picks something they think everyone should read.

go post your favorite books!
